#3 Was Grrreeeaaat!!

Posted by Liz on Sep-20-2004
I am a huge fan of all things Harry Potter and I have to say this was with best HP movie yet! #3 is also my favorite HP book so needless to say I was awaiting this film for a lonnnng time. The directing was wonderful, very different from the first 2 movies. This movie will be confusing to you if you have not read or seen the other books or movies! #3 is is a bit different from the book , but in movies you can't fit everything in, it would take too long! I loved the dementors, but I was sad the Maurader's were left out. Despite that the movie was wonderful!

Yay HP

I hope they continue the movies with the books. But I understand that people were confused if they didn't read the books. You must read them because they're AWESOME!!!

i think that the only reason i went to see this is to be with my boyfriend...but thats ok...i think it was a really sweet movie

a fascinating ride

Those who are sticklers to the books might be disappointed, but beyond the changes it's obvious that this movie has many things the first two did not: creative imagination, humor, suspense, artistic touches, and the theme of darkness. Perfect.

Confusing

Posted by Giraffe on Jul-22-2004
Ok, so this movie was ok, if you'd read the books. If you hadn't, however. it was just confusing. It moved way too fast, and didn't stop to explain things, like where the Marauder's Map came from, and whose nicknames were on it. Like I said, it was ok, but a little confusing.

Best HP Movie Yet

Alfonso Cuaron did a beautiful job bringing PoA to life on the big screen. Although not word-by-word to the book (like the first 2 films), I'm glad it wasn't because film and literature are two very different things. The flowing of scene to scene, the darker tones and hues, the more jazzed-up soundtrack, nearly every aspect of the movie is without flaw. True, if you haven't read the books only one part is a little confusing, but chances are you've read the book or are with someone who has and can explain. Overall, a wonderful movie, clearly one of the best films of all time, and the best Harry Potter movie to date. You did us proud, Alfonso. ;)

Needs more information

The movie was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Harry and the rest of the students. The fact that they are trully growing up in front of the viewers eyes from movie to movie helps. However, if you have never read the book, i would recommend waiting to watch the movie. To much information is left out of the movie that is found in the book.

Difficult To Follow

A good movie showing the kids growing up, but if you haven't read the book it would be difficult to follow as they did not explain a lot of things important to the story that were in the book.

Missed Opportunity

I thoroughly enjoyed POA. I think a lot of wonderful things were allowed to flourish on screen. However, how Surius Black knows about "the map" is never explained. Neither is the fact that Harrys' patronus was a stag- it would look odd to someone who had not read the book. I think the plot could have been thicker; whick was an opportunity to make the film more adult-like. In addition, I loved that Harry actually is seen enjoying himself with friends other than Ron and Hermione. It shows depth of the characters and of Warner Brothers acceptance that the viewers are not all small children.

The story keeps getting better!

As the story of Harry Potter grows, so do the actors. They make it easy to believe they are growing up together in this magical world. Though I would not recommend this movie for anyone under 13 due to the fact that it has some scary images that most children would not understand aren't real. Otherwise I would recommend this movie to anyone looking to go on an adventure.

Best one yet

I am a huge fan of Harry Potter. This movie dosn't fallow the book as closely as the other two movies and there are things added that do not happen in the book. However i feel these add to the experience. My only complaint on the movie is that it dosn't explane the relationship between James and his old school friends. Every one should see this movie!!!!!

sometimes hard to follow

This movie was a really great movie and a really good interpritation of the book I think, but it is a little hard to follow with the flashbacks.

A Great Story

It followed the book and was very enjoyable... it was nice to see the kids grow in the adventure. You will like it.

The best so far

Indeed this is the best Harry Potter thus far.

Once again

Once again they did a very good job with the movie. It was a very good movie with very little slow spots. Some of it was predictable though.

Harry Potter adn the Prisoner of Azkaban

This movie is definitely worth your money. The new director did a fabulous job, maybe even better, of continuing with the other movies. I was not disappointed at all with it. It had me on the edge of my seat for quite some time. A very enjoyable movie for all Harry Potter lovers!

If I could give this movie more stars I would. It was no doubt the best movie.

Great movie, absolutley wonderful, great graphics!!!!

Disappointing

Posted by a potter fan on Jun-04-2004
I was disappointed. I can't imagine how anyone who hadn't read the book could possibly understand the movie. Nothing was explained at all. They just lightly touched on the highpoints of the story and left out everything else. The cinematography was innovative, however and the acting was good, too.
